Description

Kevlar Reinforced Fiber Optic Cable

The Kevlar Reinforced Fiber Optic Cable is a high-tensile-strength indoor optical cable designed for UAV (drone) tethering, FTTH drop wiring, and industrial indoor deployments. It features a G.657A2 bend-insensitive single-mode fiber (1 fiber) protected by 6 strands of 200D imported aramid (Kevlar) yarn and a 0.9 mm tight-buffer jacket, delivering >200 N long-term tensile load while staying lightweight (≈6.5 kg/km) and compact.

Engineered for applications where the cable must withstand repeated pulling, suspension, or drone-flight tension without compromising optical performance — ZTO Kevlar reinforced cable is the go-to choice for fiber-tethered drones, mobile signal transmission, mining and tunnel wiring, and FTTH in-home runs.

Key Features

  • Kevlar (Aramid) Yarn Reinforcement: 6 strands × 200D imported aramid yarn provide >200 N long-term tensile strength and 660 N short-term — ideal for UAV tethering and suspended installations.
  • Bend-Insensitive G.657A2 Fiber: Single-mode fiber compliant with ITU-T G.657A2, with minimum bend radius of 15 mm (long-term) — survives tight routing without signal loss.
  • 0.9 mm Tight-Buffer Jacket: Compact 0.9 mm outer diameter with tight-buffer construction protects the bare fiber and simplifies connector termination (SC/APC, LC/UPC).
  • Ultra-Lightweight Design: Approximately 6.5 kg/km cable weight — minimises drone payload and enables long flight duration on tethered platforms.
  • Wide Temperature Range: Operating temperature -40 °C to +70 °C; storage -40 °C to +80 °C — suitable for outdoor UAV missions and harsh industrial environments.
  • Low Attenuation: ≤0.4 dB/km @ 1310 nm, ≤0.3 dB/km @ 1550 nm — meets and exceeds ITU-T G.657A2 specifications for long-reach fiber runs.

Applications

  • UAV / Drone Fiber Tethering: Continuous fiber-optic link between ground station and airborne drone for unlimited-flight surveillance, comms relay, and persistent ISR missions.
  • FTTH Drop Cable: Indoor drop wiring from ONT to wall outlets in MDU / SDU installations.
  • Industrial Indoor Wiring: Factory floor, warehouse, and production-line fiber links where mechanical stress is high.
  • Mining & Tunnel Communication: Mobile equipment signal transmission and backbone cabling in confined / high-stress environments.
  • FTTA (Fiber-to-the-Antenna): Lightweight fiber runs between BBU and RRU on cell towers where cable weight matters.
  • Robotics & Mobile Platforms: Tethered robots, AGVs, and remote-operated equipment requiring reliable fiber under repeated motion.
