Description

The Stranded Loose Tube Armored Fiber Optic Cable GYTS is a versatile outdoor fiber optic cable designed for a wide range of applications. It features a stranded loose tube design and is armored to provide excellent mechanical protection and durability. This cable is commonly used in long-distance communication networks, including aerial, duct, and direct burial installations. The fibers, 250μm, are positioned in a loose tube made of a high modulus plastic. The tubes are filled with a water-resistant filling compound. A steel wire, sometimes sheathed with polyethylene (PE) for cable with high fiber count, locates in the center of core as a metallic strength member. Tubes (and fillers) are stranded around the strength member into a compact and circular cable core. The PSP is longitudinally applied over the cable core, which is filled with the filling compound to protect it from water ingress. The cable is completed with a PE sheath.

Characteristics

  • Good mechanical and temperature performance
  • High strength looes tube that is hydrolysis resistant
  • Special tube filling compound ensure a critical protection of fiber
  • Specially designed compact structure is good at preventing loose tubes from shrinking
  • Crush resistance and flexibility
  • PE sheath protects cable from ultraviolet radiation

The following measures are taken to ensure the cable watertight:

  • Steel wire used as the central strength member
  • Loose tube filling compound
  • 100% cable core filling
  • PSP enhancing moisture-proof

Standard

Standard YD/T 1155-2001 as well as IEC 60794-1.

FAQ

GYTS is a stranded loose-tube cable with corrugated steel tape armor and PE jacket for duct and direct-buried outdoor installations. Supports up to 144 fibers with rodent and mechanical protection.

Extended Fiber Count Range (48–288 cores)

The Stranded Loose Tube Armored Fiber Optic Cable GYTS covers a complete fiber count range from 48 cores up to 288 cores for high-density outdoor duct and direct-buried installations. Standard stock typically ships in 48 / 72 / 96 / 144 cores; large-count configurations (192 / 216 / 240 / 288 cores) are manufactured on order with a 4-week lead time. Each large-count GYTS uses the same stranded loose tube design with corrugated steel tape armor (GYTA) or steel wire armor (GYTS) for direct-buried mechanical protection.
