Description

OPGW cable (optical ground wire) is a type of cable that is used in overhead power lines. Fibers for OPGW are single mode type. The stainless steel tube is stranded by double or three layers of aluminum clad steel wires(ACS) or mix ACS wires and aluminum alloy wires.

FAQ

OPGW (Optical Ground Wire) combines lightning protection and fiber optic communication in a single cable installed at the top of transmission towers. The outer aluminum-clad steel and aluminum alloy wires provide electrical and mechanical functions while protecting the optical fibers inside.

Designed for 35kV to 500kV+ transmission lines. The stranded design allows customization of the aluminum/steel ratio to match specific short-circuit current requirements of each line.

24 to 96 fibers in stainless steel loose tubes. The stranded design accommodates multiple buffer tubes for higher fiber count requirements.
