Central stainless steel tube OPGW places all optical fibers in a single central tube, protected by stranded aluminum-clad steel wires. This design offers superior fiber protection and is ideal for moderate fiber counts (12-48) on transmission lines.

Central tube is preferred for moderate fiber counts (up to 48 fibers) and simpler installation. Stranded type offers higher fiber capacity (up to 96) and more flexibility in mechanical design.
