The High Density 12 Core MPO OM3 Trunk is part of the full MTP/MPO trunk cable family. This product page covers the OM3 12-core configuration; the same trunk construction is available in OM3 / OM4 / OM5 multimode and OS2 singlemode at 12 / 24 / 36 / 48 / 72 / 96 / 144 core counts. All variants use factory-terminated MTP/MPO connectors at one or both ends, 100% tested for insertion loss and return loss, and ship on reels with test reports.

Typical applications by core count:
- 12 cores: base parallel optics link (40G SR4 / 100G SR4) between QSFP transceivers and MPO cassettes — most common data center deployment.
- 24 cores: 100G SR4.2 / 200G bidirectional parallel optics; or two independent 12-fiber links in one cable.
- 36 / 48 cores: aggregation of multiple parallel optics channels; high-density ODF-to-cassette trunk in spine-leaf architecture.
- 72 / 96 cores: hyperscale data center backbone between main distribution area (MDA) and multiple intermediate distribution areas; AI/ML GPU fabric aggregation.
- 144 cores: maximum-density backbone for hyperscale and AI fabric; typically deployed with MTP-24 dual-row connectors and ribbon stack construction.
